Life is Beautiful

Nate and I have been so slammed for time. It’s been driving me crazy… literally. One of my downfalls is I won’t actually acknowledge how overwhelmed I am until I am well past the point of the need of a break. I’m constantly on the go with 50 things running through my head at any given time. I don’t do well being still – not sure I ever have? So we spent the entire day laying on the couch drifting in and out of sleep, watching the endless viewing options on Netflix. There was plenty that still needed to be done, but rest was priority. It was such a lovely day.

It’s hard to stay focused sometimes. It’s easy to side step, look the opposite way, become critical and negative. Especially in the world of photography – or maybe it’s with any new endeavor. The world in which your art lives seems so cluttered by other artists creating art. It’s hard to feel and maintain freedom to be you.

One of our new rules is, you read a blog, you comment. Thus you must find something positive to say even if the blog or photos particularly to our liking. This is good because it makes you look deeper into each photo and to only follow the artists who are where we want to be. It’s far too easy to click every link on facebook or twitter that pops up and voice all of your thoughts out loud. Somehow, even in the privacy of your own home, it creates a division and a competition – the very opposite of who we are.

Nate and I are pretty much open books. We open our arms, just as we open our wallets and (soon-to-be) our home. We love to bless others around us and enjoy talking to pretty much anyone. We have hoped to mirror this in our business as well – hardly holding anything back techniques and information from clients or other fellow photographers. We hope to inspire and to learn from those around us.  It really is surprising… when you keep your eyes on the goal and when you look deeper, you can always find the beauty. It’s easy to forget, life is beautiful.
