I saw the cutest jewelry holder idea while in Scotland on our Honeymoon:
Of course the concept I saw in Scotland was drilled into the wall and I couldn’t exactly give someone some screws and buttons and say Merry Christmas! So the next best thing was finding a piece of wood to hold said screws and buttons. Nate suggested an old antique piece of wood, but with time closing in on our project-time, we chose something that wouldn’t need as much work. I spent some time scouring the web for the right piece of wood and was overjoyed that it was also sold at a nearby store. We were disappointed to find that they had every other cut, but the style I wanted. We were able to find the larger version of the same cut, decided to change the design slightly and borrowed a saw from our dear friend, Kris!
All of the buttons were purchased from a scrapbook website. The additional piece of molding we found at AC Moore and Nate was able to cut them to size and used glue to secure the two pieces together. Walmart has a great selection of spray paint – so a lil paint, a lil sanding and voila! Here are the finished products:
Thanks to my sweet husband, Nate, for putting my creations together:) He did all the labor minus gluing on the buttons! Merry Christmas to my beautiful sisters, Amber & Sera:)
